Bishop Medo visited the “Nikola Tesla” Polytechnic in Gospić on the occasion of the Christmas holidays
In the run-up to Christmas, the Bishop of Gospić-Senj, Mons. Marko Medo, accompanied by Rev. Mišel Grgurić, Chancellor and Bishop’s Secretary, visited the Nikola Tesla Polytechnic and met with the Polytechnic’s staff. The meeting confirmed the continuation of the long-standing and meaningful cooperation between the Nikola Tesla Polytechnic and the Diocese of Gospić-Senj, which began at the very beginning of the Polytechnic’s work.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Branislav Šutić, addressed the gathering, reminding them that the connection between the Polytechnic and the Diocese has been strong since its very foundation, recalling that the first Bishop of Gospić-Senj, Mons. Mile Bogović, blessed the Polytechnic at a time when the institution’s building did not yet exist, symbolically laying the foundation for its operations and development.
He emphasized that the cooperation continued in later years during the time of Bishop Mons. Zdenko Križić, when the Dean was Assoc. Prof. Vlatka Ružić, through joint participation and cooperation at the Meeting of Croatian Catholic Youth, further strengthening the relationship between the Polytechnic and the Diocese.
Bishop Medo sent his warm Christmas greetings to those present, wishing everyone a blessed and peaceful Christmas. In his address, he particularly emphasized the importance of the teaching profession, highlighting it as one of the most responsible and noblest vocations. He emphasized that teachers and lecturers play a key role in educating young people, not only in transmitting knowledge, but also in shaping the values, character and humanity of future generations.
Entering a new era, cooperation continues under the leadership of Bishop Mons. Marko Medo, at a particularly significant moment for the Nikola Tesla Polytechnic, which will celebrate 20 years of its activities in 2026. In this context, the importance of the Diocese’s support for the work and development of the Polytechnic, as well as the joint promotion of education, values and social responsibility in the local community, was emphasized.
This meeting and continued cooperation represent a strong impetus for the further development of the Nikola Tesla Polytechnic, based on togetherness, trust and long-term partnership.
