Inclusivity in focus: guest lecture by Ivana Delač Tomljenović at the graduate program

At the graduate study program of the “Nikola Tesla” Polytechnic in Gospić, on June 10, 2025, a publicly invited lecture on the topic “The Importance of Inclusivity in Tourism” was held, which was given by Ms. Ivana DelačTomljenović, director of the Karlobag Municipality Tourist Board and a recognized European expert on inclusivity.

As inclusivity becomes one of the key elements of all tourism development strategies, Ms. Delač Tomljenović provided the students with an overview of the latest trends and categories of people with disabilities, and explained the basic concepts involved in an inclusive approach in the tourism industry.

At the lecture, students listened with interest to practical examples – Ms. Delač Tomljenović presented numerous concrete examples illustrating how to adapt the offer to people with different types of disabilities and health needs.

The lecture met with great interest from students, who actively participated through questions and discussion, providing additional contribution to the understanding of inclusivity as an indispensable part of sustainable tourism.
