COMPETITION
for selection:
- one executive (m/f) to the position of I. class – head of department in the central service (Secretary of the Polytechnic) for a fixed term, full-time, until the temporarily absent employee returns to work
Persons of both sexes who have completed the appropriate level of education are entitled to apply for the competition, under equal conditions in accordance with the Gender Equality Act.
The applicant must meet the following requirements: Completed undergraduate and graduate university studies or integrated undergraduate and graduate university studies in the field of social sciences, law or a higher education degree obtained in accordance with previously applicable regulations. Good computer skills, knowledge of one foreign language, at least five years of work experience in relevant positions.
Along with the application text, applicants are required to submit:
- CV with information on work experience;
- proof of acquired professional qualifications;
- proof of work experience (e-record of the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute’s Registry);
- certificate that there are no criminal proceedings pending against the candidate – not older than one month
- a copy of the certificate of citizenship, or a public document proving the candidate’s citizenship of a European Union member state;
- proof of knowledge of the Croatian language (level B2 – for foreign citizens);
- other relevant evidence of meeting the required conditions.
The competition is open for 8 days from the date of publication, with the deadline being counted from the last publication of the competition on the website of the Croatian Employment Service, the website of the Polytechnic and the daily newspaper 24 sata.
Applications for the competition and evidence of meeting the criteria must be submitted in electronic form within the deadline specified above to the University of Applied Sciences’ electronic address tajnik@velegs-nikolatesla.hr with the indication “Application for the competition – Secretary of the institution”.
A valid application is one that contains all the information and attachments as specified in the competition. Incomplete and untimely applications will not be considered. Persons who submit incomplete or untimely applications will not be considered candidates for the competition nor will they be notified of the results of the competition.
For candidates who meet the formal requirements, testing may be conducted in the form of a written test of knowledge, abilities and skills essential for performing the duties of the position or an oral test and interview. Candidates are required to take the aforementioned test, otherwise they will be considered to have withdrawn from the competition.
The Polytechnic reserves the right not to make a decision on the selection of candidates without a specific explanation or to cancel the competition in part or in full.
A candidate who, in his application for a public competition, invokes the right to priority in employment in accordance with the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families (Official Gazette no. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21), is obliged to submit, in addition to proof of meeting the required conditions, the evidence prescribed in Article 103, paragraph 1 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families, which are published on the website of the Ministry of Croatian Veterans:
A candidate who, in his application for a public competition, claims employment preference in accordance with Article 48, item f of the Act
on the protection of military and civilian war invalids (Official Gazette no. 33/92, 57/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 02/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03, 148/13, 98/19), in addition to the application for the public tender, the applicant must also submit a decision or certificate showing the stated right, a certificate of unemployment from the Croatian Employment Service issued during the duration of this tender, and evidence showing how his employment with his last employer ended (decision, contract, agreement, etc.).
A candidate who, in his application for a public competition, requests employment preference in accordance with Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities, consolidated text of the Act (Official Gazette No. 157/13, 152/14, 39/18, 32/20), is obliged, in addition to evidence of meeting the required conditions, to submit an appropriate public document on disability on the basis of which the person can be entered in the register of employed persons with disabilities, and evidence showing how his employment with the last employer ended (decision, contract, agreement, etc.).

In accordance with Article 13, paragraph 1 of the Gender Equality Act (Official Gazette, No. 82/08, 69/17), persons of both sexes may apply for the competition.
By submitting an application for the competition, applicants expressly agree and give their consent to the “Nikola Tesla” Polytechnic in Gospić to collect and process personal data specified in the application for the competition and the documentation submitted with the application, for the purpose of implementing the competition procedure in accordance with the provisions of the General Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data.
