The Jadranska Vrata container terminal provides services primarily related to the transshipment and storage of containers, but also additional services such as the CFS (Container Freight Station) service – loading and unloading containers. All services are related to containers and the cargo transported in them. Services include: loading and unloading of containers, acceptance and delivery of containers by/on trucks, acceptance and delivery of containers by/on railways, loading and unloading of containers, washing of containers, fumigation and assistance with customs or phytosanitary inspection, sealing and storage of cargo. Contents and very useful knowledge about the functioning of technological processes in transshipment and road transport of container units are determined in the learning outcomes of the Road Transport Professional Study.
As part of the study trip, the students visited the Center for Traffic Management and Control and the Fire Station at the Mala Kapela Tunnel, the center’s employees, one of whom completed the Road Traffic Study at our Polytechnic, introduced the students to the processes of traffic control and management in the tunnel. The firefighters on duty presented the available equipment and described some of the most common interventions from their scope, which was extremely interesting for the students.
